The members and Executive Committee of Sydney Sindhi Association celebrated Thadri at Beecroft Bowling Club on 23 August 2008. The function was a resounding success as all the 130 tickets were sold out.
President Mrs. Sue Advani thanked the members and their families for their support and confidence in the newly elected Executive Committe of SSA. Mr. Inder Kirpalani spoke few words about the significance of Thadri as a cultural and religious event in the lives of Sindhi Hindus.
The MCs for this memorable evening were Vijyata Kirpalani and Akash Tolani. The house full of members and their families were entertained by Sindhi youth consisting of sisters Vijyata and Verkha Kirpalani, Mansi Raisinghani, Akash Tolani and brothers Hemant and Kapil Vaswani, who performed beautiful dances on Bollywood medley.
Mr. Lachman Aswani rendered two beautiful songs of Master Chander in his equally sweet voice loved by growing number of senior Sindhis. Akash Tolani's youthful jokes were also equally enjoyed by the entire audience.
The guests were served with entrees of Vegetable Pakoras and Samosas. Mrs Usha Kirpalani's "Khato Bhat-u" and traditional Thadri ja "Chotha / Katiya" prepared by the caterers on her recipe were an instant hit.The sumptuous dinner included Naan, Pulao Rice, Aloo Beeh-a, Pakora Karhi, Palak Paneer ji bhajji, and sweet dish of Ras Malai.
After dinner every young at heart participated in the disco dance on the popular bollywood mix played by our Sindhi DJ. Everyone left with unforgetable memories of the great Thadri night in Sydney.
